We’ve known each other since middle school, where our friendship blossomed while hanging out at the local Lewis County baseball fields. It wasn’t long before we started dating in high school (even though Meagan hesitated to officially call Joe her boyfriend—yikes!).
As senior year of high school rolled around, life pulled us in different directions. Meagan then started her journey at WVU, while Joe joined the Army. Through it all, we stayed friends and always cheered each other on from afar.
Our story took a new turn when Joe graduated from basic training, and we rekindled our connection. Despite the challenges of long-distance, with Joe stationed in Colorado Springs, CO and deploying overseas, we made it work. Meagan cherished every spring break and Thanksgiving break spent together and eagerly awaited Joe’s long weekends back in West Virginia.
Eventually, the distance faded as we started building our life together in Morgantown. Now, Joe is finishing his BS in Forestry, graduating in May 2025, and Meagan has started her PhD in the Geology & Geography Department. Fittingly, our studies both revolve around trees—one of many things we’ve grown to love together.
When we’re not busy with school and work, we enjoy hiking, fishing, and spending time with our families. One of our favorite traditions is going to the beach with family every year, where we soak up the sun and create lasting memories.
We’re so excited to take this next step together and can’t wait to celebrate our special day with all of you!
